Study of JinChan on Refractory Sulphide Gold-Bearing Ore Published

A 2026 study examines a combined process for refractory sulphide gold-bearing ore in which JinChan was used.

A paper by W. Li, B. Liu, F. Jiao and W. Liu on the processing of refractory micro-fine-disseminated sulphide gold-bearing ore has been published in Process Safety and Environmental Protection.

What the authors investigated

The authors examined not an individual reagent in isolation, but a combined process flowsheet for complex mineral feed material. JinChan was used at the leaching stage after the other operations included in the investigated flowsheet.

91.19% — overall Au recovery under the conditions of the investigated combined flowsheet.

This figure cannot be interpreted as recovery achieved by JinChan alone or transferred to another ore without verification. The result relates to the specific feed material, material preparation and sequence of operations described by the authors.

Practical significance

The publication demonstrates why mineralogy, preparation and selection of the entire process flowsheet are particularly important for refractory sulphide ores. Before industrial application, the operating parameters need to be verified on a representative sample of the specific ore.

More information on the reagent verification approach is available in the ore testing section and in the technical article on arsenic, arsenopyrite and gold-bearing ore.
